ORPHELINS
répandant la haine de ton divin oubli ;
orphelins bafoués, parjurent le Calice !
ORPHANS
If you appear blind, are you perhaps also deaf?!
When the world is consumed, when a heavy pall
weighs on our bruised hearts, our fate so bereft:
men tear themselves apart on their own embers' thrall...
Where then is the hand that fashioned the universe,
breath that from earth gave flesh, both blessing and curse?
That eternal love, each day mutilated, torn,
has fled your spirit... but where, then, is your pity, forlorn?
The children of your heavens cry loud in the night,
bleeding their anguish on the altar of sacrifice,
sowing the hatred of your divine oversight;
scorned orphans now forswear the Holy Chalice!
