Note de l'auteur

Author's Note

This first collection, written in adolescence in the wake of a great heartbreak — as everyone knows at that age, when one is so often in love with love itself — also marks the time when I began my long journey through depression and isolation. Yet through it all, there was always a light within me, the light of my soul, which in those dark nights I went to seek beside the one known by many names, but who points to nothing other than that same consciousness we endlessly pursue, and which calls to us always in a whisper so fragile that we so often walk straight past it, in the clamour of modern life. This collection was also the foundation upon which my latest work was built: La Chute De Babel, which represents a culmination in my search for myself, for life and its deepest meaning — a meaning only we can find within ourselves, as in the adage of Socrates: "Know thyself and thou shalt know the universe and the Gods."

This collection of poems is a kaleidoscope of my moods, where moments of happiness and distress intertwine. It is meant to be intimate and unguarded, for my poems are monologues — chants that cradle my joys and my sorrows. My guiding choice: simplicity of words and images, set to music by the sounds and the rhythm of verse.
