IN PASSING...

You passed through my life

as shooting stars pass...

Those one only recognises too late,

with a wasted wish,

with a streak of light that clouds

smother in the mists

polluted by human jealousies...

With the faith of an ill-considered dream

and the candour of a soul that hopes,

with the force of an unsuspected shiver

and the violence of an accident,

in the weakness of a hope

that no longer dared to pray,

in the manipulations of the envious,

in the tyrannies of vanities...

You came into my life like a rose

whose thorns were not its own.
